The Niderviller factory was founded in 1735. It was particularly renowed in Europe for porcelain and majolica pieces in the second half of the 18th century. The kind of fine majolica produced in Niderviller was very similar to porcelain. Niderviller patterns represent often floral decoration. The manufacture has produced from 1930 to 1960 attractive Art Déco shell and oyster plates.
